Everton have been linked with Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen.

Hull City boss Nigel Adkins has told the Hull Daily Mail that there have been no bids received for forward Jarrod Bowen amid links to Everton.

Bowen, 21, came up through the ranks with non-league Hereford United before earning a 2014 move to Hull, where he has developed into a first-team star.

The forward – primarily a winger – hit 15 goals last season in a superb campaign, impressing for the Tigers in what was a disappointing season following their relegation from the Premier League.

Hull have already lost Allan McGregor and Abel Hernandez, but now they risk losing another player as well, with Bowen attracting major interest early in the transfer window.

The Sun claimed last week that Everton – now managed by Bowen’s former Hull boss Marco Silva – are interested in Bowen, and could launch a £12million bid to secure his signature this summer.

Hull won’t want to lose Bowen on top of their existing departures, but a move to the Premier League may be appealing to the youngster, providing he is offered first-team opportunities.

Now, Hull boss Nigel Adkins has told the Hull Daily Mail that there have been no bids for Bowen so far, and was adamant that the Tigers aren’t looking to sell one of their top talents this summer.

Adkins noted that Bowen is under contract having signed a new deal last season, and he is looking to bring players in rather than lose them – though Everton appear to be lurking with intent.

“There’s not been any bids,” said Adkins. “He scored some goals last season so we’ll have to wait and see (if there’s interest) but we’re not looking to sell him. We want to be building a team. We’ve got an XI that, on their day, can be a good team in the Championship and Jarrod is a part of that. We don’t want to be losing him.”

“He’s a player that we want to keep. He’s under contract and he was happy to sign that last season. He started playing games and was rewarded with a new deal. The fact of the matter is that we need to bring players in. They’ve got to be the right characters but we need to bring players in. That’s what I’d like to think we’ll be doing,” he added.
