Tommy Elphick joined Hull City on loan from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

Elphick joined Hull on a season-long loan deal from Championship rivals Villa in the summer transfer window.
Steve Bruce was in charge of the Villans when the decision to send the 31-year-old defender out on loan was made.
Dean Smith is now in charge of Vila, and it remains to be seen if he will decide to recall the former Brighton and Hove Albion star from his loan spell at Hull.
Hull manager Adkins has said that Villa have not made any approach to recall Elphick,
Adkins told The Hull Daily Mail: “From our point of view Villa have not made any calls to us to say that they want Tommy back. Tommy is here, he’s doing well and he’s enjoying it.
“The January window is a great window for speculation and all the things that go on but we have to keep our finger on the pulse for what is going on. I’d like to keep the group of players we’ve got together.”

Ipswich Town stay
Elphick is playing well for Hull at the moment and has established himself as an important player for the Tigers.
Given how the 31-year-old is currently playing, Hull will be a worse team without the defender for the second half of the season.
Elphick joined Villa from Bournemouth in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £3 million and when Roberto Di Matteo was the manager.
