Nico Raskin has been quoted by Football Scotland as urging Rangers to hand Ryan Kent a new deal – describing the Ibrox wide man as “unbelievable” and almost “impossible” to tackle, claiming the winger is an inspiration to him.
Raskin, 22, is starting to shine for Rangers since joining the club in January from Standard Liege. He has started his new club’s last three league games, clocking up seven games in total. Raskin is the future of Rangers – while Kent could go.
The ex-Liverpool winger is one of a number of players out of contract at the end of the season. Kent, along with the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Jack, Filip Helander, Scott Arfield and experienced duo Allan McGregor and Steven Davis.
Raskin was asked about Kent. He claims he was the one player he had heard of growing up in this Rangers side – and described the winger as an “inspiration” to him. He urged Rangers to tie up his future, labelling him as “unbelievable”.

“Of course I want Ryan to stay here so I can play with him for a long time. I think he is very important for the team. If we want to achieve something we need to keep all of our best players — and he’s the best player. We need him here.
“He’s a top player and he is inspiring as well. He’s a very good professional and that’s why he is so good, I want to learn from him. Honestly, he is the only guy I knew when I was a young kid, he was famous in Europe as well.”
Nicolas Raskin urges Rangers to hand unbelievable Ryan Kent a new deal
Kent has come in for criticism at times for his lack of numbers. But Kent is the kind of player that gets Rangers up the park, easily the best when it comes to going past players – and he is capable of producing something out of nothing.
Rangers have got to tie Kent down. Even if it means, keeping Kent for just one more year but including a release clause in his deal. The Gers would obviously much rather sell Kent for a fee, rather than lose the Englishman on a free transfer.
