Nicolai Jorgensen opens up on nearly joining Newcastle United.

Denmark forward Nicolai Jorgensen has admitted he was desperate to move to Newcastle United in January.
Jorgensen is on international duty in Denmark at present and he has been opening up on his disappointment at failing to land a move to the Premier League.
He told Tips Bladet: “It was a little annoying. Of course it is always nice to know that there is a club that will pay so much money for one, so of course it gave me confidence, but at the same time a little bit of sigh.
“It is of course a big dream for me to end up in such a league.”

Jorgensen insisted he had no hard feelings towards Feyenoord for rejecting the offer, adding: “It is okay. I’m really happy to be in the club so there is nothing there. The only reason I was a little down was because it was a dream like all football players.”
Jorgensen was the Eredivisie’s top goalscorer in 2016/17 scoring 21 goals, although this season he has only eight to his name.
Just one of these has come since January, with the failed move to Newcastle potentially weighing on his mind.
With a World Cup around the corner and the need to pick up his form to secure a summer move, Jorgensen cannot afford to feel sorry for himself.
