Law claims to have advised several clubs, including Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, to sign the Bristol City defender.

Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United are among several clubs to have ignored Nicky Law’s Aden Flint recommendation, the former Alfreton Town manager has told Sky Sports.
Flint is said to be attracting interest from top-flight clubs in January, after his exploits for Carabao Cup semi-finalists Bristol City this season.
But the 28-year-old, who kept a clean sheet at Hillsborough and scored the winner at Bramall Lane earlier in the campaign, could have been doing his thing for either Sheffield Wednesday or Sheffield United had Law’s advice not fallen on deaf ears.
“I recommended him to everyone in our area,” said the 56-year-old, whose son, also named Nicky, began his career with the Blades. “Rotherham, Chesterfield and the Sheffield clubs. Unfortunately for Aden, and even more unfortunately for them, none of them seemed to follow it up.”

It is possible, however, that things could have worked out differently had Sheffield United hired Danny Wilson five months earlier than they did.
It was Wilson, who also played for and managed Sheffield Wednesday, that gave Flint his break in the Football League, bringing him to Swindon Town in January 2011, on the advice of his son, Laurie – a former Owls trainee.

Law added: “At the time I had Laurie Wilson, Danny Wilson’s lad, at Alfreton, and he had been onto his dad at Swindon. His dad rang and asked if Aden was worth a punt. All day long, I said. I can’t believe nobody else has. Then there was a flurry of interest. Once one is in then they are all in. He went to Swindon and while it didn’t work out for Danny, it did for Aden.”
And Flint could rub further salt in Sheffield United’s wounds, with Bristol City rivalling the Blades for promotion this season.
