The Blues have a strong record of developing young talent.
Speaking to the Times, Manchester United academy chief Nicky Butt has described Everton as aggressive when it comes to signing young players.
The Blues have long focused on youth development, given their inability to compete financially with the big sides in the transfer market.
That has seen a number of youngsters develop and break through into the first-team over the last few years.
John Stones is the most notable success, having become a Premier League star at Goodison Park before his £50 million move to Manchester City earlier this summer.
Their focus is now on developing the next batch of players, and Butt has explained that they are viewed as aggressive when it comes to signing youngsters.
“At Manchester United, we can compete with anybody if we want to,” he told the Times.
“You’ve seen with Pogba but we’ve bought a few young players who’ve cost us a lot of money. If we don’t pay it we know City, Chelsea or even Everton, who are really aggressive in the market, will pay it. Economically, they’re right to do it.”
It will be interesting to see if youth development remains a big part of Everton in future following the investment from Farhad Moshiri.
They now have the money to compete at a higher level and that could see them put less focus on developing young players as they seek out big name signings instead.
That would be a disappointing development though given the success they continue to enjoy in bringing through young players.
