The former Gunners striker could get his first start for Forest in the EFL Cup this week.

Nicklas Bendtner has shared via Nottingham Forest’s official Twitter account whether or not he will celebrate should he score against former club Arsenal this week.

Bendtner arrived at the City Ground at the start of the month, having been released by Wolfsburg in April.

Prior to his spell in Germany, the Dane was on Arsenal’s books for 10 years and could get his first start – and first goal – for his new employers in Tuesday’s EFL Cup third round tie against his old team.

And were he to mark the occasion with a goal, Bendtner has admitted he would celebrate.

The 28-year-old was quoted as saying the following by Forest’s official Twitter account:

On his move to the City Ground, Bendtner added:

Bendtner, who is yet to face Arsenal since his release by the Gunners in 2014, has appeared as a substitute in each of Forest’s last two fixtures.

However, he faces a tough ask to depose fellow front man Apostolos Vellios, who has found the net in each of his last three outings.

The two sides have not faced each other since 1999, the year in which Forest last appeared in England’s top flight.
