The Danish striker comes with baggage, and potential.
Wolfsburg’s Nicklas Bendtner on the bench
During Rangers’ draw with Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership yesterday their main goal threat picked up an injury.
Martyn Waghorn, who scored Rangers’ goal, suffered a hamstring issue. However, even before that, it looked as though Mark Warburton might need to bring a new striker into Ibrox.
Kenny Miller struggled in the game and Rangers surely need another central striker.

Is one potentially controversial option a current free agent, who they tried to sign ten years ago?
In July 2006 Rangers, then managed by Frenchman Paul Le Guen, tried to sign a then 18-year-old Nicklas Bendtner on loan from Arsenal. As reported by the BBC the deal collapsed, as Arsenal were not keen on him playing north of the border.

Now Rangers could finally bring the maverick striker to Glasgow.
He is a free agent after his release by Wolfsburg and has been training with former club FC Copenhagen.
Despite his reputation for being more trouble than he is worth Bendtner can be a very dangerous striker. His record for Denmark is good, with 29 goals in 72 caps.

He needs a fresh start and at Rangers under Warburton the 28-year-old could really thrive as the main central striker.
He would be a gamble, but in the Scottish Premiership he could be lethal.
