The Dane has signed a two-year deal at Nottingham Forest today.

Nottingham Forest have completed the eye-catching transfer of Nicklas Bendtner on a free transfer. The former Arsenal striker was a free agent following his release by VfL Wolfsburg in April. Forest were in the hunt for a new striker after both Dexter Blackstock and Lars Veldwijk left the club at the end of the transfer window.
Bendtner has been unveiled to the press in Nottingham following his deal at Forest being confirmed and he spoke about his desire, as reported by the Nottingham Post, to return to English football being key in the decision to join Forest:

“I wanted to come back to England.
“That was key for me. I could have gone other places but my main goal was to come back to England and play.”
He went on to discuss his friendship with a couple of players already at Forest.
Bendtner was at Arsenal with midfielder Henri Lansbury and Armand Traore from a young age and he spoke about how he hopes the pair will help him settle in at the City Ground:

“Henri and Armand I have known since I was 16 so they also told me very great things about this club.
“They will probably show me the ropes and show me how it is done.”
The Danish international has often found himself in trouble for his actions off the pitch and rarely making headlines for those on it.
He is however clearly hoping to change this at Forest after signing his two-year deal with the club.
