Sunderland have managed to bring in Will Grigg, after chasing the Wigan Athletic forward for much of the summer.

Wigan Athletic’s Nick Powell has suggested that he has been sickened by Will Grigg’s move to Sunderland.

Sunderland have snapped up Grigg, with Jack Ross’ side finally getting the striker that they had been chasing for much of the January transfer window.

Grigg’s departure has not gone down well with all Wigan supporters though, and it seems the players aren’t best pleased about it either.

Powell, who is said to be valued at £5 million by TeamTalk, tweeted just one emoji, suggesting that he felt sick about Grigg’s move to Sunderland.

Despite Wigan’s players and supporters protestations, Sunderland should be delighted about the capture of Grigg.

The experienced forward almost guarantees goals at League One level, and he is sure to make Jack Ross’ side a major threat over the second half of the campaign.

Grigg is unlikely to play for Sunderland tomorrow against AFC Wimbledon, but he could feature make his debut when his new side take on Oxford United in two weekends’ time.
