Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is said to want to bring Wigan Athletic’s Nick Powell to Villa Park.

Nick Powell could be a brilliant addition for Aston Villa, if they can get a deal over the line.
According to The Sun, Villa have made contact with Wigan Athletic over bringing in Powell.
And if they could snap up the attacking midfielder then Steve Bruce’s options would look much brighter.
The future is Jack Grealish remains in doubt, even with Villa’s financial struggles lessening.
Although Bruce has suggested that Villa are no longer under any pressure to sell Grealish, there is no guarantees that the youngster will remain at Villa Park next term.
And if he was to depart then Powell could be a fine replacement.

Powell has shown flashes of quality, but last season with Wigan he really started to become a consistent star.
Powell’s performances were a major reason behind Wigan’s promotion, with the attacking midfielder one of the most dangerous players in League One.
And if Villa could bring Powell in, then he could help to add creativity and a goalscoring threat to Bruce’s midfield options.
