Newcastle United’s pursuit of Allan Saint-Maximin has been boosted.

Newcastle United broke their transfer record on Tuesday with a deal for Joelinton, but another signing could be on the horizon for Steve Bruce and co.
With one centre forward secured, it’s now imperative that Newcastle add other attacking talents, with a winger certainly needed at St James’ Park.
Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin has emerged as a top target, and the Shields Gazette claim that a deal could be done within a matter of hours.
The 22-year-old can be signed for around £20million, and having been on the Newcastle radar for a little while, a move may well be imminent.
Nice may have even hinted that Saint-Maximin is on his way to St James’ Park, having left him out of their squad to face Boavista in a pre-season friendly last night.
That decision was likely because a deal is in the pipeline, and Newcastle fans will have real hope that he will be confirmed as a Magpies player before the weekend friendly with Preston.

Saint-Maximin can cause mayhem with his blistering pace, but he needs to improve his end product after six goals and three assists last season.
With Saint-Maximin, Miguel Almiron and Joelinton in the final third, Newcastle may well have an exciting attack ahead of the new season – and last night’s development takes a move even closer.
