The Frenchman joined Spurs yesterday for £30 million.

There is little doubt what the biggest transfer saga of deadline day was yesterday. Tottenham Hotspur finally got their hands on Moussa Sissoko for £30 million.
At first it looked like Sissoko was on his way to Everton from Newcastle United. But it soon became clear that he wanted to make a move Spurs – who had been interested in signing him all day.
Spurs were linked with a move for the Newcastle player, who impressed at Euro 2016 with France this summer, throughout deadline day but it seemed they would not be paying the £30 million being quoted.

So the fact that Newcastle got the money they wanted for the Frenchman was certainly good business from the club.
It was even praised by a Sunderland legend.
Niall Quinn has played for, managed and been the chairman for the Black Cats so is not exactly popular at St James’ Park.

But speaking on Sky Sports Deadline Day yesterday (31/08/2016) he had this to say:
“First of all, they’ve done really well Newcastle.
“They’ve bought it to £30 million. I imagine earlier on today that would have been 15, 18, 19, 20.
“So Newcastle, in terms of negotiating have done very well.”
The midfielder is certainly a talented player but considering his performances for Newcastle there is no doubt that the Magpies have done well to get £30 million for the player – who was linked with Real Madrid this summer.
Tottenham will hope that they get the Euro 2016 version of Sissoko at White Hart Lane.
