Former Sunderland footballer and chairman, Niall Quinn, has made a bold prediction on Sky Sports about teams which might get relegated at the end of the season.

Sunderland are rock bottom in the Premier League, ten points behind 17th placed Hull City, having played a game less. Quinn, the Sunderland legend, feels that the Black Cats are in big trouble, and there’s no way back for them.

He expects Middlesbrough to face the drop as well. Boro lost 4-2 against Hull City in their last match, and are running out of games to save them from getting relegated.

Quinn has made a bold claim that Burnley could be the third team to suffer the cruel fate of relegation. The Clarets are seven points clear of relegation in 14th, but Quinn believes they are not entirely safe yet.

Burnley remain the only side in the Premier League who are yet to win a game away home. They face crucial away games against Boro, Everton, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth and will play against Manchester United at home in the remaining fixtures. So, there is a chance they might drop points.

Quinn further claims it could get very interesting for Burnley if Hull City continue their revival and Swansea keep picking vital points.

“Sunderland are in big trouble and I don’t see any way for them back,” said Quinn to Sky Sports. Against Swansea, things may have been so different for Steve Agnew at Middlesbrough if Rudy Gestede finished his big chance. That would have lifted them and given them impetus.

“I’m not entirely sure Burnley are safe yet. They need another win or two. If you looked at the way they played against Spurs, as soon as Spurs scored the first goal Burnley were over and out. I’d worry that they might struggle if Hull keep winning and Swansea get above them. They’ve got a cushion, but at the end of April that might be different.”
