The fullback has been linked with a move to Southampton this week.
Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier
Former Sunderland and Manchester City striker Niall Quinn has told Sky Sports that Mauricio Pochettino would be reluctant to let defender Kieran Trippier leave White Hart Lane, despite certain reports linking him with the exit.
The Star this week suggested Southampton are preparing a £5 million bid for the player.
The former Burnley fullback managed to get a reasonable amount of football under his belt in what was his first campaign in North London.
He turned out 19 times for Spurs, even though he was firmly back up to England right back Kyle Walker.

However, once Spurs exited Europe and the FA Cup, there were no more appearances to be had for the 25-year-old.
And when asked whether Trippier would be satisfied with playing second fiddle to Walker, Quinn admitted he probably wouldn’t be, before going on to explain why that isn’t necessarily a problem.
“He won’t be happy, no player is happy not playing,” Quinn told Sky Sports as the channel prepared to air Tottenham’s game with Juventus from Sydney.
“The thing about Trippier, he’s a very good club man, he never really complained last season. He just gets on with it. And that was after he put in some good performances and then got left out straight away.
“I can’t imagine Pochettino letting him go anywhere else.”

Trippier’s last Premier League game came in the disappointing 1-0 loss away to West Ham, while he was on the bench for seven of the last 10 league matches.
Most of Trippier’s football came in Europe last season, as he played every minute of the club’s march to the last-16.
European football will be much harder in the coming campaign, with Tottenham set to return to the Champions League after a five year absence.
Southampton are said to be interested in adding another right back to their squad ahead of the new season, despite the Saints currently having European Championship winner Cedric Soares and Cuco Martina at the club.

With Soares likely to be first choice under new manager Claude Puel, it seems unlikely Trippier would consider switching being second choice at Spurs to being second choice at another Premier League club.
