The Aberdeen winger was released by Celtic during Lennon’s first spell as manager.

Niall McGinn has described Neil Lennon as the ‘best fit’ for Celtic’s predicament ahead of his reunion with the Bhoys in Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final.
McGinn, whose Aberdeen side are hoping to knock out the holders, was allowed to leave Celtic during Lennon’s first spell as Parkhead manager.
The winger spent the final year of his Bhoys contract on loan at Brentford, after voicing his displeasure at not being included in the club’s pre-season tour of Australia (Sky Sports).
But he appears to have no hard feelings towards Lennon, who stepped in as interim boss after Brendan Rodgers quit Celtic to join Leicester City earlier this year.

“Given the circumstances, he (Lennon) was the best fit for the job,” McGinn said, as quoted by The Scottish Sun.
“Neil has been there before and achieved a lot.”
Aberdeen’s last Scottish Cup win against Celtic came five years ago, during Lennon’s first reign.
McGinn and Andrew Considine are the only surviving Dons players from that fixture.

It remains to be seen whether or not Lennon will be given the Celtic job on a full-time basis, despite having opened up a 13-point league on their Premiership challengers, Rangers.
