Sheffield United are reportedly pressing hard to bring Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan to the club on loan, and a section of Aston Villa fans are worried about letting him go.

According to the Sun, the Blades are willing to make Hogan their highest paid player and pay the 26-year-old £35,000 a week to make the switch from Villa, who are looking to move multiple players in and out before the end of the month.

The Irishman has scored 10 goals in 54 appearances since he arrived at Villa Park in January 2017, but despite being a regular fixture in the second half of last season he appears not to be in Steve Bruce’s plans.

The Aston Villa boss has made it no secret that he wants to strengthen his squad before the loan window shuts, with Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo and Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham reported targets.

Having not been in a position to make any squad additions earlier in the summer, Bruce is now having to make up for lost time and may feel that offloading Hogan will give him the financial freedom to secure new recruits.

Despite failing to really find goalscoring form at Villa, the news of his potential departure has upset some Aston Villa fans who took to Twitter to express their concern.
