The Argentinian defender has made 107 appearances for United but now appears surplus to requirements.

Manchester United could reportedly receive a fee of £30 million from Everton for defender Marcos Rojo and fans cannot believe their luck.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Toffees have escalated their efforts to sign the 28-year-old and may have to pay up to £30 million for the Argentinian.
Rojo has been managed by Marco Silva before, however, the pairs’ working relationship did not last long as the defender joined United in a deal worth £16 million just 3 months after Silva took over at Sporting Lisbon.
United have been rumoured to be after a new centre-back all summer, with the Manchester Evening News also indicating that Leicester City’s Harry Maguire or Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Alderweireld are the most likely candidates.
The addition of a new central defender would leave United with seven first-team players in that position and it appears Rojo will be the player to make way.
The Argentinian, who has played both centrally and on the left of defence, arrived at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal in 2014 but has seen his United career limited by injury and inconsistency.

He has made 107 appearances for the Red Devils since he joined the club, with just 12 of them coming last season.
A pacey and physical defender who is comfortable on the ball, Rojo’s fearlessness can often be his downfall as the defender is prone to rash decision making and poor challenges.
Despite his quality and Premier League experience, £30 million does seem steep for a 28-year-old defender who has struggled to hold down a first-team place for the last four years and some United fans have made it clear they think they’ve got the best end of the deal.
