The Brazilian has signed a five-year contract with Manchester United.

Manchester United have announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 25-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the club, for a fee that the Guardian has reported is believed to be £52 million.
Since joining from Internacional in 2013, Fred has made 155 appearances for Shaktar, scoring 15 times and winning three Ukrainian Premier League titles and three domestic cups.
A central midfielder who is dynamic going forward and has an industrious defensive work rate, the Brazilian appears a great fit for Jose Mourinho’s philosophy.

The Brazil international appears an ideal candidate to play alongside the more defensive Nemanja Matic and attack-minded Paul Pogba in a midfield three, which many believe is the key to getting the best out of the Frenchman.
Best suited to a holding midfield role, Fred is also excellent in possession, and his ability to drive forward with the ball and turn defence into attack should prove useful to a United team that looked lacklustre at times last season.

Fred is Mourinho’s second signing of the summer transfer window after he brought in full-back Diogo Dalot from Porto for £19 million earlier this month.
The 25-year-old could be a key player for United next season, and the Old Trafford faithful have been vocal in support of their new signing:
