The Atletico Madrid defender reportedly has a release clause of €20 million (£17.6m) and he would be ideal for Manchester United.

Tuttosport has reported that Juventus are interested in signing Diego Godin in this transfer window and Manchester United would be mad not to make a move for the Atletico Madrid centre-back.
According to Tuttosport, the Uruguayan has a €20 million (£17.6m) release clause and only one year left on his contract, meaning he could be an absolute bargain if United can convince him to move.

The 32-year-old has had an excellent World Cup so far and has been vital to Uruguay qualifying for the last-16 without conceding a goal.

Godin is a world-class centre-back, something United have been searching for since they lost Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

A big game performer, Godin has regularly shown in La Liga and the Champions League that he can compete with the world’s top players.
Bringing in such an experienced centre-back may also aid the development of Victor Lindelof, giving the 23-year-old time to grow into the player United hoped he could be when they signed him from Benfica for £35 million last summer.
Prising the centre-back away from Diego Simeone may prove difficult but for a player of his ability, at that price, United have got to try.
