Manchester United have been reportedly interested in signing a new centre-back all summer.

Manchester United are reportedly close to making Colombian central defender Yerry Mina their fourth signing of the summer, but some fans don’t seem too impressed by the news.
According to Spanish site Mundo Deportivo, the club have “practically agreed” personal terms with the 23-year-old and must now settle on a price with Barcelona, who are asking for €40 million (£35m).
The report adds that United executive Matt Judge is in Spain to negotiate the transfer.
The Colombian international, who had an impressive World Cup, arrived at the Nou Camp from Palmeiras for £10.5 million in January but appears likely to leave the club this summer.
United have been rumoured to be after a new central defender all summer and, with Marcos Rojo reportedly about to leave the club, it seems they are about to pull the trigger.
The most consistent name linked to United has been Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Alderweireld, with Leicester City’s Harry Maguire also a candidate following his impressive World Cup campaign with England.
Mina seems to be a riskier option, the 6 foot 4 inch centre-back has never played in the Premier League and, despite his obvious talent, is far from the finished article.

The Colombian is less comfortable on the ball than Maguire and Alderweireld and has a defensive style that is heavily reliant on his physicality and athleticism.
With the new summer transfer deadline for the Premier League, 9 August, fast approaching, the club are running out of time to fill a need that many suggested was their greatest at the start of the summer.
Some of the Old Trafford faithful, however, do not seem impressed by the potential arrival of Mina, feeling he is a downgrade on the other options available and in some cases that he doesn’t improve the squad at all.
