Arsenal target Mykhailo Mudryk has sent a message to Shakhtar Donetsk fans on Instagram, thanking them for their support this year and hoping that Ukraine as a country are in a better situation in 2023 given the ongoing war with Russia.
Mudryk, who is the subject of a bid from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, has won the Player of the Year award for Shakhtar.
The 21-year-old Ukraine international winger is over the moon to have been adjudged as the best player at his club.
And he has thanked the Shakhtar fans for their support, adding that he hopes that Ukraine celebrate victory over Russia in the ongoing war.
Mudryk may not actually be playing his club football in Ukraine next year.
That’s because Arsenal are strongly interested in the 21-year-old and are determined to bring the winger to the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window.
The London Evening Standard have reported that Arsenal have had a bid of £55 million for Mudryk turned down, and that the Gunners will make a new and improved offer.
Sergei Palkin, Chief Executive Officer of Shakhtar, has publicly said that the club are in talks with Arsenal over the winger.
