Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking for a new manager after sacking Walter Zenga.

If Skybet‘s latest odds are anything to go by, there could be two new names in the running for the Wolverhampton Wanderers manager’s job.

Ex-Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Lambert is now firmly in the running it seems, with odds of 8/1 offered, while Martin Jol – formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham and Ajax – is eighth on the list at 18s.

That means that Lambert is the joint-fourth favourite to succeed Walter Zenga at Molineux – alongside current Wolves caretaker Rob Edwards.

Interestingly, previous second-favourite Marc Wilmots, the former Belgium manager, has dropped to sixth on the list since Thursday afternoon, with odds of 14/1 offered.

Sam Allardyce remains the third-favourite, although his odds continue to drop – this time from 4/1 to 7s – with Dougie Freedman leapfrogging the sacked England boss into second (2/1).

And, for the second day running, that leaves Nigel Pearson in pole position for the job, just weeks after his departure from Wolves’ Championship rivals Derby County.

Both sets of supporters have taken to Twitter following the news that Pearson has already held initial talks, with opinion perhaps unsurprisingly divided.
