The former Watford manager has suddenly appeared on Sky Bet’s list of West Bromwich Albion contenders.
Quique Sanchez Flores has emerged as an outsider for the vacant West Bromwich Albion manager’s position.
Flores suddenly appeared at 16/1 with bookmakers Sky Bet on Monday, making him fourth favourite to succeed Tony Pulis at the Hawthorns.
Alan Pardew remains odds-on favourite at 1/10, with Craig Shakespeare (10/1) and Sam Allardyce (12/1) standing between the 56-year-old and Flores, who is the current Espanyol manager.
Allardyce, though, is being strongly tipped to take over as Everton manager after reopening talks with the Toffees, and could take Shakespeare – his former assistant with England – with him if appointed on Merseyside, according to reports earlier this month.
That could, therefore, see Flores climb up the list of West Brom favourites, although he is perhaps an unlikely appointment.
Sport reported earlier this month that West Ham United had made contact with the former Watford manager ahead of Slaven Bilic’s sacking, but were told he had no intention of leaving current employers Espanyol before the end of the campaign.
Bilic was himself linked with the West Brom position last week, but is even more of an outsider than Flores with Sky Bet (25/1).
