Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares is “keen” on a move to Atalanta in the summer transfer window.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Arsenal will make the final decision on the future of defender Tavares next week.
Atalanta and Arsenal are in talks over a loan deal for the 22-year-old, but the two clubs cannot agree on a buy-out clause.
SkySport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio had earlier reported on his website that Serie A club Atalanta want to have an option to make the loan deal over the Portuguese defender permanent next summer, but Arsenal are against it.

Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares keen on Atalanta move
Gunners exit sensible
In our view, it would make sense for Nuno Tavares to leave Arsenal for Atalanta in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have signed Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City this summer, and the Ukraine international can play at left-back.
This means that the 25-year-old could replace Kieran Tierney when the Scotland international is injured or unavailable.
Tavares would essentially become the third-choice left-back at Arsenal.
Atalanta are an ambitious club who have played in the UEFA Champions League in recent seasons, and a move to the Serie A club could benefit Tavares.
