It has been claimed that Mauricio Pochettino could have a higher chance than before of becoming the next Tottenham manager due to Fabio Paratici resigning from the club.
It was announced on Friday by the club’s official website that the sporting director had left his role due to an unsuccessful appeal to overturn his Italian Football Federation (FIGC) ban.
With Fabio Paratici leaving Tottenham Hotspur, it seems Mauricio Pochettino could be in line to return as his former side’s manager.
Pochettino could be set for Tottenham manager return after Paratici news
The rumour mill has gone into overdrive about the Argentine coach taking over the Chelsea job, as Luis Enrique is no longer a leading candidate for the role, as per a report on Thursday.
Praised for doing an ‘incredible job’ at Spurs, this has left a sour taste in a lot of the club’s fanbase’s mouth due to the rivalry between both sides.
However, journalist Tom Barclay has said that after Fabio Paratici has resigned from Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino could see his chances of becoming his former team’s manager rise.

“It will be interesting to see how this effects the managerial search. They’re almost looking at a Director of Football as well as a manager right now”, he told the Tottenham Way Podcast.
“That complicates it in some way, but in others, it simplifies it. The power is in Daniel Levy’s hands now. We’re led to believe that Paratici was more sceptical about Mauricio Pochettino, so perhaps it may increase the chances of a return for Pochettino. Luis Enrique was very much favoured by Paratici, so maybe he slips down the list now.”
It is likely that a majority of Tottenham fans may consider the resignation from Fabio Paratici as a blessing in disguise, as Mauricio Pochettino is considered as arguably the club’s greatest ever manager.
