Simon Jordan has blasted Tottenham Hotspur manager target Brendan Rodgers, saying he would not have been fit to manage Chelsea on an interim basis.
While it was claimed on Wednesday that Daniel Levy was against appointing the ex-Leicester City boss as he snubbed a move to Spurs in 2012, that does suggest that he has always rated his work.
But Simon Jordan could not disagree more, as he slammed Brendan Rodgers amid his links to Tottenham Hotspur, claiming that he would not have been right for the caretaker manager role at Chelsea.

Despite Leicester’s struggles this season, Michail Antonio maintains that the Northern Irishman would make for an ‘unbelievable’ addition in N17.
But when Stuart Pearce quizzed Simon Jordan about whether Brendan Rodgers would have been a better appointment than Frank Lampard at Chelsea, he was heavily critical of the Tottenham manager target.
“No, he’s in a funk and he’s been in a funk for a year. And the nature of his personality and the nature of the way he’s approached his job in the last 12 months has been remarkably poor”, he told talkSPORT.
“As much as I like Brendan Rodgers and have been a leading voice, even discussed Brendan Rodgers perhaps being suited for the England manager’s job six months ago. But circumstances are different.”
“You don’t get dumped in the bottom two of the Premier League in my view, if I’m reading the room, potentially if I don’t fancy it anymore and come away with a mutual concession situation when I’m probably walking away from the job yourself and then land in a club that’s got different aspirations.”
Many may disagree with Brendan Rodgers and rightfully so, as even if one believes that he may not cut it at Tottenham, he certainly would have made for a smarter appointment than Frank Lampard at Chelsea.
