A fresh claim suggests that Chelsea are looking at the prospect of appointing Tottenham manager target Ruben Amorim next season.
It was reported in March that the Sporting CP boss, who has a £17.7 million release clause in his current contract is considered as an option by Spurs to replace Antonio Conte.
As Tottenham Hotspur are on the lookout for a brand-new manager, with Ruben Amorim reportedly catching their eye, it seems as if Chelsea are ready to hijack a move for him.
Chelsea exploring Ruben Amorim appointment amid Tottenham manager links
The Portuguese tactician is widely admired for being one of the best up-and-coming managers in the entirety of world football.
In fact, the Herald Scotland described the 38-year-old as the ‘next Portuguese supercoach’, which goes to show how high his stock is.
Many have even compared him to Jose Mourinho, due to his pragmatic approach to the beautiful game.
However, journalist Rudy Galetti has said that Chelsea are seriously looking at the chance to appoint Ruben Amorim as their manager, leaving Tottenham in the dust.

“Chelsea are instead exploring the situation of Ruben Amorim, the current Sporting CP coach”, he said in a tweet on Saturday.
HITC View: Tottenham fans may not have taken to the coaching prodigy in any case
Often, the ‘Tottenham way’ remains a major sticking point for the fanbase as at the end of day, the fanbase are suckers for attractive football.
However, due to their lack of silverware over a decade, the club went the serial winner route and brought in the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, two coaches who neither brought success or a style of play that was easy on the eye.
Considering Ruben Amorim does not have a CV that proves he can guarantee trophies at Tottenham and plays a defensive-oriented brand of football, perhaps the fans would be content if he becomes the Chelsea manager after all.
