A claim has emerged that Fabio Paratici held talks with Will Still over becoming the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

The English coach has become the people’s champion, becoming one of the most exciting coaches in Europe at such a young age and that too at Ligue 1 side Reims.

As Tottenham Hotspur remain alert in their search for a new manager, it seems like Will Still was seriously considered for the job.

Will Still was in talks for Tottenham job during manager hunt

The 30-year-old has managed to make Reims into a top-half side, despite being an inexperienced coach, which led Eddie Howe to label him as ‘incredible’ while speaking to Chronicle Live.

While Still is often cherished by fans of all clubs due to his well-known affiliation towards the game, ‘Football Manager’, the work he has done in France has been nothing short of remarkable this season.

Now, Sport Italia have reported that before Fabio Paratici was hit with a 30-month ban from all footballing activities, he held talks will Reims manager Will Still over taking over the Tottenham job.

It remains unknown whether the highly-rated tactician will actually accept the offer at hand but he remains a surprise candidate.

HITC View: Tottenham should steer clear of this appointment

Not to undermine any of the work that the Englishman has done in Ligue 1 but the mess at Spurs requires a coach with a lot more experience under his belt.

From dealing with the problems at hand with the squad, Daniel Levy’s frugal tendencies, Harry Kane’s potential exit and embedding his tactical ideas, the task list at hand is virtually endless.

As a result, Tottenham should look towards appointing a more seasoned candidate to become their manager than Will Still.

Considering there are plenty of experienced managers on the market, there is no excuse not to target a superior appointment.
