Tottenham Hotspur are pressing ahead with a move for Antonio Conte, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano claims that the deal isn’t done yet, but talks are ongoing about the project at Spurs as well as the contract length and salary needed to get a deal done.

The Italian added that Paris Saint-Germain are standing firm on Mauricio Pochettino, so Tottenham are looking at other managers.

Conte, branded a proven winner by Simon Jordan last week, is believed to be a prime target now, in what could be a hugely exciting move for Spurs fans.

Conte just won the Serie A title with Inter Milan, and having previously won the Premier League with Chelsea, he would bring a real winning mentality to Spurs.

Yes, Tottenham fans have heard this all before with Jose Mourinho, but Conte’s success is much more recent and his football is more progressive than Mourinho’s.

The only fear would be that Conte – a volatile character at times – doesn’t mesh well with Daniel Levy, but it looks like the Spurs chairman is pushing for Conte.

One interesting note here is that Spurs are also interested in ex-Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici, who is very close to Conte.

We could now see both Italians make the move to North London, with hope really building over a deal for Conte after this update.
