Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with a move for Mauricio Pochettino – and there has been no shortage of news tonight.

Spurs still haven’t found a new manager having parted ways with Jose Mourinho in April, and fans were sent wild by The Athletic last week.

They reported that talks were underway for Tottenham to bring Pochettino back to North London, despite sacking him in November 2019.

Pochettino is now Paris Saint-Germain boss, and seeing him leave to go back to Tottenham inside six months would be quite bizarre.

Tonight, Liberation in France report that Pochettino has personally told president Nasser al-Khelaifi and sporting director Leonardo that he wants to leave for Spurs.

Football.London added that Pochettino asked to leave last week and has a ‘real desire’ to return to Tottenham and complete ‘unfinished business’.

That all seemed pretty positive, but The Telegraph state that PSG are ‘extremely confident’ that Pochettino will be staying, and have activated a one-year extension clause in his contract has been activated.

PSG even deny that Pochettino has asked to go, with AS reporting that negotiations with Tottenham are now off and the Argentinian is staying.

What looks promising now seems to be death knell for Tottenham’s hopes of landing Pochettino, so what does Daniel Levy have up his sleeve now?
