Tottenham Hotspur manager target Julian Nagelsmann has denied reports that he rejected the Chelsea job.

Instead, the former Bayern Munich boss simply alluded to the fact that he was never close to joining the Blues next season.

As a majority of Tottenham Hotspur supporters hope and pray that Julian Nagelsmann becomes their next manager, he has given his verdict on reportedly turning down the eventual vacancy at Chelsea.

Considering it was claimed by the Telegraph month ago that Daniel Levy was keen on bringing the German tactician to his side, the news surrounding him opening talks with the Blues might have left him heartbroken.

Despite the young coach being sacked by the Bundesliga champions, he remains highly respected within the game, with reputed journalist Juliens Laurens dubbing him as a ‘genius’ on ESPN FC.

However, it seems as if Tottenham manager target Julian Nagelsmann was never seemingly on top of the Chelsea shortlist of targets.

“To decline something, you have to accept something”, he said, as relayed by CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.

Regardless of whether Spurs believe this revelation is a hint towards pining for the job in West London or a public rejection, they only have one task at hand.

HITC View: Tottenham should jump at the chance to sign him

Initially, it seemed like game over for Tottenham when Chelsea were on the lookout for a new manager and Nagelsmann was available.

But from the man himself’s confession, one gets the impression that a move is off the table.

The Lilywhites should capitalise on this situation and bring in one of the outright best managers in the world and hand him the reins.

Tactically as well as in terms of building long-term projects, there are simply not many better coaches than the ex-Hoffenheim boss himself, which is exactly what the English side are in need of.
