It has been claimed that Daniel Levy would likely be against the idea of appointing Brendan Rodgers as the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

The claim was made by Jack Pitt-Brooke on the View from the Lane podcast, as the former Leicester City boss continues to get linked with the Spurs job.

But it has been claimed that Daniel Levy is unlikely to bring in Brendan Rodgers on board to become the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

How Daniel Levy feels about Tottenham manager target Brendan Rodgers

The Northern Irishman has been backed by many, including Michail Antonio to thrive, if given the reins at N17 ahead of next season.

While Rodgers’ reputation is not at its highest after how his tenure at Leicester ended, it seems many in the footballing world still highly regard what he has to offer.

But it seems as if Daniel Levy is not one of them and that too for a very specific reason as it seems virtually impossible that Brendan Rodgers becomes the next Tottenham manager.

“Yeah, so my understanding of this situation is that after Tottenham sacked Harry Redknapp, they were very close to getting Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers actually went to Liverpool and he changed his mind very quickly.”

“The way that was handled didn’t go down very well with Daniel Levy and therefore I would be very surprised if Rodgers were to end up being Tottenham manager this summer or anytime in the future.”

HITC View: Rodgers would suit Spurs

While it would be slightly strange to discover if Daniel Levy is still miffed with the currently out-of-work manager over snubbing the Tottenham manager job in 2012, it is worth saying that he would suit the job.

Rodgers has previously done miracles with a squad short in terms of quality and has also thrived when handed a shoestring budget.

Considering the ex-Liverpool boss knows the ins and outs of the Premier League as well, perhaps Levy should reconsider his stance.
