Jamie Carragher has suggested Tottenham Hotspur to appoint either Roberto De Zerbi, Julian Nagelsmann or Ruben Amorim as their new manager.

Since Antonio Conte left the club after their 3-3 draw to Southampton, it seems Spurs have been linked with every name in the sun.

However, it seems like Jamie Carragher believes the best candidates for the Tottenham manager job are indeed Roberto De Zerbi, Julian Nagelsmann or Ruben Amorim.

There seems to be a division amongst many when suggesting names to come in and take over the job in N17.

While some strongly feel that a coach that can spearhead a long-term project is key, others believe that remains futile unless they have a track record of winning silverware.

As Jamie Carragher was posed with the Tottenham manager question, he tipped Roberto De Zerbi, Julian Nagelsmann and Ruben Amorim as the best fits.

“They have to go out and get a manager who’s prepared to build them over three or four years and get them better each year, the way Arsenal have done or Liverpool have done in the past”, he said on the Overlap. “And they need the new [Mauricio] Pochettino if you like. A younger coach who thinks he’s going to build something for four or five years and that’s what they need.”

“Who that’s going to be, I don’t know. Maybe that is the guy at Brighton [Roberto De Zerbi], young and up-and-coming coach, looks really good. Looks like they’re trying to go for Nagelsmann, he’s a young manager. I think there’s a guy at Sporting Lisbon [Ruben Amorim] who people are talking about, the new Portuguese coach.”

Jamie Carragher is certainly right when suggesting names like Roberto De Zerbi, Julian Nagelsmann and Ruben Amorim, who are well capable of doing an excellent job if appointed as Tottenham manager.
