Jamie Carragher has said that it would not shock if Tottenham Hotspur manager target Julian Nagelsmann has already joined Chelsea.

A report on Thursday mentioned that the former Bayern Munich boss is set to hold an interview with the Blues after his holiday comes to an end.

While many have wondered whether manager Julian Nagelsmann will manage Tottenham Hotspur or Chelsea, Jamie Carragher thinks the deal with the latter may have already been struck.

It was also reported on Thursday that the former RB Leipzig tactician prefers joining the two-time Champions League winners rather than Spurs next season.

It seems such claims do not Jamie Carragher as he believes that Julian Nagelsmann may have already agreed to become the next Chelsea manager instead of Tottenham.

“I think, if we’re being totally honest, if a manager’s got an option between Chelsea and Spurs, I think he’s going to choose Chelsea in terms of giving them more chances of winning. Maybe there’s a bigger transfer kitty there”, he said on the Overlap.

“The fact that you’ve put Frank Lampard in tells me that they may have someone already lined up or that person wants to come in the summer. So that’s why they’ve put in a proper manager in some ways who’s had three or four jobs rather than Bruno [Saltor], who’s Graham Potter’s No.2.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out in the next couple of weeks that Nagelsmann’s agreed to join Chelsea but he wants a bit of time out to get himself ready for the summer and wants a pre-season.”

Tottenham fans will be hoping and praying that Jamie Carragher is dead wrong, especially considering how much it would sting them to see Julian Nagelsmann manage bitter rivals Chelsea.
