Italian manager Luciano Spalletti has won the Serie A title with Napoli amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham have been linked with the Italian manager, but club chairman Daniel Levy’s task of bringing him to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium might have just become harder due to his success with Napoli.

The 1-1 draw with Udinese away from home on Thursday night saw Napoli wrap up the Serie A title this season.

It was the Naples outifit’s first Italian championship since 1990 when the late great Diego Armando Maradona led them to success.

Italian manager Spalletti is the architect of Napoli’s success this time around.

Under the former AS Roma manager, Napoli play scintillating attacking football and are hugely entertaining.

Now, while most would say that Manchester City play the best football in Europe, there is an argument to be made that Napoli have played better and have been more entertaining than Pep Guardiola’s side this season.

Linked with Tottenham

No wonder that Tottenham have been linked with Spalletti, described as a “genius” by former Real Madrid player Antonio Cassano in August 2022.

In February 2023, Italian newspaper Il Mattino claimed that Tottenham are among the clubs who are considering former AS Roma boss Spalletti.

Calciomercato.it reported in March that Tottenham are still keen on the Italian boss.

However, now that Spalletti has won Serie A with Napoli, he may to been too keen to leave a winning team for a club who are unlikely to even be in the UEFA Champions League next season.
