Journalist Graeme Bailey has tipped Brendan Rodgers to become the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

The 50-year-old coach was sacked by Leicester City this season, as his side were languishing in 19th place in the Premier League.

As Tottenham Hotspur are on the lookout for a brand-new manager to take the reins, Brendan Rodgers could be brought in to replace Antonio Conte.

Graeme Bailey: Brendan Rodgers now tipped to become the Tottenham manager

The Northern Irishman, who was once branded as a ‘fantastic coach’ by Gary Neville (via Liverpool Echo) stock has declined and massively, as his side perhaps suffered the worst decline out of any team in the English top-flight.

Considering Leicester always slipped away at the last moment in their hopes to secure top four as well, the general view surrounding Rodgers is that he is a bit of a ‘bottler.’

However, Graeme Bailey has said that Tottenham Hotspur could well take a chance on Brendan Rodgers and bring him in as their next manager.

“I keep coming back to Brendan Rodgers, I think this might be Brendan Rodgers’ job. I do, I don’t know why but it’s a feeling that I have”, he said on the Talking Transfers Podcast.

“We know he’s on the list and Daniel Levy likes him. He’s a very good Premier League manager and it might fall into his lap with the way it’s going.”

HITC View: Tottenham could appoint superior managers

The criticism that Brendan Rodgers has always received has been over the top during his time as a manager and he would make for a smart appointment if Tottenham bring him in.

However, the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique are still on the market and would make for better appointments for Spurs.

Be it Enrique proving his status as a winner in the game or Nagelsmann cementing his reputation as a master tactician, either of these coaches would be better fits for the job in N17 than Rodgers.
