Tottenham Hotspur have some confidence that they won’t face strong competition for the services of Julian Nagelsmann this summer.
Spurs remain interested in appointing Julian Nagelsmann and think they could have a clear run at him, according to the Daily Mail.
It’s stated that Tottenham have held ‘exploratory talks’ in an attempt to appoint Nagelsmann as their next boss.
The deal isn’t particularly advanced; Nagelsmann wants to wait until he finds out who Tottenham appoint as their sporting director.
Johannes Spors – who was with Nagelsmann at Hoffenheim – is wanted by Spurs and could be the golden ticket to landing the former Bayern Munich boss.
Tottenham have confidence anyway as they don’t think there will be huge competition for Nagelsmann this summer.
The German is keen on a move to the Premier League but a switch to Chelsea has already been ruled out.
Tottenham is the only other major vacancy and there aren’t many jobs out there around Europe either.
Carlo Ancelotti could leave Real Madrid but it’s stated that Nagelsmann would be an ‘outsider’ for that job.
Spurs now seem to think that, barring a major managerial switch from a massive club this summer, they can land Nagelsmann.

Tottenham can’t let Julian Nagelsmann situation drag on
It’s still early days in Tottenham’s managerial hunt given that Ryan Mason is in charge until the end of the season.
Tottenham will probably ramp up their pursuit once the season ends but fans will have bad memories of 2021.
Spurs took so long to figure out their targets; they wanted Mauricio Pochettino back, they wanted Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca, Gennaro Gattuso and then ended up with Nuno Espirito Santo.
Tottenham have to do better this time around and need to have their top targets lined up and ready to go.
Spurs fans will be looking to see major movement on Nagelsmann fairly soon – otherwise there will be fear of spending too long targeting a manager who just isn’t sure.
Maybe landing Spors as a sporting director will really get the ball rolling, but you could forgive Tottenham fans for maybe not quite sharing the club’s confidence right now.
