Chelsea have reportedly decided not to hire Luis Enrique as their new manager, which will come as a boost to Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea stance on Tottenham manager target Luis Enrique

The London Evening Standard have reported that Chelsea have not included former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique in their shortlist of managers.

While the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners did have the 52-year-old manager on their radar initially, they do not have him on their final four-man shortlist.

And this will come as a boost for Tottenham, who have also been linked with the former AS Roma boss.

Boost for Spurs

The Telegraph reported this week that Tottenham are keen on bringing the Spaniard to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and have made moves to make contact with him.

True, Tottenham do not tend to win major trophies, but they are a big and ambitious club who always aim to finish in the top four of the Premier League and play regularly in the UEFA Champions League.

And Luis Enrique could well be tempted to move to Spurs at the end of the season.

After all, the 52-year-old took charge of AS Roma and Celta de Vigo before becoming the Barcelona boss.

So, the Spaniard is not averse to managing clubs who do not win major trophies.
