BBC pundit Garth Crooks has suggested Tottenham Hotspur to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their next manager.

It seems like the Argentine is Chelsea-bound, with a report on Saturday detailing that Spurs have unanimously decided not to bring back the club legend.

However, pundit Garth Crooks could not disagree more as he firmly believes Mauricio Pochettino should be the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

While names such as Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique and Arne Slot have been touted as potential candidates for the job, there is no indication about which coach will take over the vacancy in N17.

Back in 2021, Andros Townsend, who used to play for the London-based side told talkSPORT that his former boss as the ‘best manager in the world’, which is testament to the astounding job he did at the club.

While selecting his Team of the Week, pundit Garth Crooks made a case for Mauricio Pochettino to return to Tottenham as their next manager.

“If the Tottenham board are to be taken seriously then they must give the fans what they want and the players what they need. Their next managerial appointment must be Mauricio Pochettino who should have been appointed the moment Antonio Conte walked out the door”, he said on BBC Sport.

“Should Pochettino be allowed to join London rivals Chelsea, who are in a considerably worse position than Spurs, it would be a nothing short of a dereliction of duty by Tottenham’s executives.”

HITC View: Tottenham could salvage themselves by bringing in either of two coaches

Pundit Garth Crooks is right when emphasising how badly Tottenham need Mauricio Pochettino to become their next manager.

However, all will not be lost for Spurs if they decide not to and instead seriously pursue either of Julian Nagelsmann or Luis Enrique.

Both managers could instil a footballing identity at the club that has been missing for years, while building long-term projects that can help them push the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal for years on end.
