Stephen Warnock has voiced his doubts that Thomas Frank would leave Brentford to be the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs are still on the search for their next permanent manager after sacking Antonio Conte at the end of March.

While Ryan Mason has also since replaced Cristian Stellini as the interim manager following a continued run of poor results.

Tottenham have considered trying to tempt Frank to quit Brentford and become the north London club’s next manager.

Alasdair Gold told football.london in April that Tottenham have ‘definitely’ looked at Frank as a potential managerial candidate.

While the Daily Record reported in March that Frank was among the frontrunners to take over from Conte.

Warnock doubts Frank will want to be the next Tottenham manager

But Tottenham remain without a permanent manager and Frank remains with Brentford.

Warnock also doubts Frank would see the Tottenham job as one worth pursuing. Even if he would be an automatic choice to fill Spurs’ vacant position.

“Thomas Frank has done an incredible job,” Warnock said on the BBC’s Final Score. “It’s incredible that he hasn’t been linked to bigger jobs.

“I look at him and automatically say Spurs. I don’t think he would take it, but how he’s not been mentioned in the conversation is baffling.

“Yes you may say there are similarities with Thomas Frank and Graham Potter when he was at Brighton. But I think Frank is different.”

Frank has plenty of positives to offer Spurs chairman Levy

Frank has peaked Tottenham’s interest and convinced Warnock of his credentials to be the next Spurs manager having worked wonders with Brentford.

The Bees have climbed up from the Championship to cement their place in the Premier League under the 49-year-old’s watch.

Brentford even have an outside shot at qualifying for a UEFA competition this season. Even though it is just their second campaign in the top-flight since 1946/47.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would also appreciate that Frank has worked with a tight budget as the manager of Brentford.

But Spurs would surely have to pay a premium to break the tactician from a long-term deal at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Brentford extended Frank’s contract until June 2027 in December 2022. So, the Bees’ price tag may be what is putting Levy off a move for the head coach.

Chelsea had to pay Brighton & Hove Albion a record £21.5m fee for a manager to appoint Graham Potter. But he only lasted seven months at Stamford Bridge.
