With Arsenal preparing to take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, Reuell Walters has been spotted training with the Arsenal first-team squad.

However, this is anything but an isolated instance, as the 18-year-old was training with Mikel Arteta’s side ahead of their 3-3 draw to Southampton.

As Arsenal now ready themselves to lock horns against Brighton & Hove Albion, Reuell Walters, who made ‘tremendous progress’ in his first season as per youth team expert Jeorge Bird has been seen training in and amongst the senior side.

A natural centre-back by nature, many already believe that Walters is simply too complete already to even play in the youth side.

Despite only signing his first professional contract in February last year, the teenager has already been branded as the ‘next Sol Campbell’ by Football Fan Cast, which tells you all you need to know about his rare talent.

As Arsenal prepare to go head-to-head against Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton in their upcoming battle, Reuell Walters was seen defending up against Gabriel Jesus in training on Getty Images.

It seemed like the youngster was not willing to back down and was probably winning the physical battle against one of the most complete strikers in not just the Premier League but in Europe.

HITC View: Reuell Walters must grab these opportunities with both hands

Currently, Mikel Arteta has four extremely promising centre-halves at his disposal in William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White and Jakub Kiwior.

However, with none of them yet to fully cement their reputations as world-class defenders, if Reuell Walters impressed in training ahead of games such as against Brighton, perhaps he could establish his place in the Arsenal first-team as well.

With how talented he already is, Walters could well usurp one of these names if he maximizes his potential or emerge as a successor, in case any of this current roster leaves.

However, amidst the limited opportunities the starlet gets in cup games and in training, he must make a serious impression on Arteta.
