Kyle Walker-Peters has taken to Twitter to send a message as he prepares to leave Southampton for his parent club Tottenham Hotspur.
Walker-Peters joined Southampton on loan from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the January transfer window.
That loan deal has come to an end today, as the Saints won 3-1 against Sheffield United at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old right-back has posted a message on Twitter after his loan spell at Southampton came to an end, and he is already looking forward to next season.
Tottenham Hotspur or Southampton next season?
Walker-Peters did well during his loan spell at Southampton, as the right-back played regularly and performed admirably.
According to WhoScored, the right-back made seven starts and three substitute appearances in the league for the Saints.
Before the match, Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl said regarding a permanent move for Walker-Peters, as quoted by HampshireLive: “He made some good games and let’s have a look at what happens in the summer.”
It is hard to see Walker-Peters break into Jose Mourinho’s first team at Spurs next season, and perhaps a permanent switch to Southampton this summer would be best for all parties concerned.
Walker-Peters is a promising young player, and he can only develop and progress if he plays regular first-team football.
