Speaking on the Premier League YouTube channel, Che Adams has been raving over Southampton teammate Danny Ings amid reports Tottenham are interested in the striker.
Ings has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs in the summer, and Adams’ comments show exactly why a club of Tottenham’s calibre are interested in signing the Southampton forward.
“I don’t think anyone is keeping up with Ingsy, as a striker you just have to admire some of the finishes he does are unreal, he’s next level. He’s a great goalscorer and I think he’ll continue to do that,” Adams said.
Ings does seem to be the type of striker that Spurs need.
Of course, Tottenham have their own supreme goalscorer in the shape of Harry Kane, but his questionable injury record means that Spurs need to have a capable backup in their ranks.
Ings could be that man, and as Adams says, he’s a fantastic finisher, and the fact that he scored 21 Premier League goals in 2019/20 shows just what he can bring to the Tottenham squad.
Whether or not Spurs pursue a move for Ings or not remains to be seen, and it may be dependent on who their next manager is.
Regardless of whether or not Spurs sign Ings, it’s clear that Adams thinks he’s a fantastic player.
