Leeds United could now see Jesse Marsch make a return to Premier League management with Leicester City interested.

The Whites sacked Marsch in February after a troubling run of form.

Marsch lasted less than a year in charge of the Whites and whilst he kept Leeds up last season, he enjoyed little success this term.

Leeds almost saw Marsch immediately land another Premier League job but talks with Southampton collapsed.

There is still a real possibility of Marsch returning to English football though as Leicester City are now interested.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Marsch is one of a number of names Leicester are considering appointing.

The Foxes sacked Brendan Rodgers on Sunday and are in real danger after Tuesday’s defeat to Aston Villa.

Ralph Hasenhuttl and Oscar Garcia are also thought to be in the mix for Leicester with all having ties to the Red Bull project.

Jesse Marsch would be a gamble for Leicester City

A move to Leicester would be somewhat ironic for Marsch.

The American’s first game in charge of Leeds was a 1-0 defeat away at Leicester back in March of last year.

Leicester need to find somebody who can keep them up after taking just one point from the last seven games.

Marsch did manage to keep Leeds up but his record wasn’t exactly stellar.

Four wins, five defeats and three draws gave Marsch 15 points from a possible 36, allowing Leeds to stay up by the skin of their teeth.

When Marsch lost Raphinha, it all fell apart at Leeds and there are major, legitimate questions over whether his narrow tactical approach can really work in the Premier League.

It didn’t work at Leeds, a team only four points ahead of Leicester, and the Foxes could be taking a real risk by throwing him a Premier League lifeline.
