Darren Bent has said that Rafael Benitez could be potentially lured into becoming the next Leeds United manager.
A claim was made on Monday that after the Whites’ 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth, the club were considering sacking Javi Gracia.
As Leeds United, who are currently languishing in 17th place in the Premier League table may be on the lookout for a new manager, Darren Bent has said Rafael Benitez could fancy the job.
Darren Bent says Rafael Benitez could fancy Leeds manager job
With just four games left for the club to save themselves them from relegation, there remains a question mark over whether any coach would be interested in salvaging things at Elland Road.
Especially the former Liverpool boss, branded as a ‘tactical genius’ on Sky Sports by John Arne Riise, as his previous spell in the English top-flight at Everton was a disaster.
However, Darren Bent has said that Rafael Benitez could be tempted to become the next Leeds manager, provided there is a financial motivation in place.

“Who’s going to want to take it at such late notice? There are some managers out there that’ll go, ‘Do you know what, I’ll have a bit of that”, he said on talkSPORT.
“Rafa? Listen, he’s going to want a big payout. Rafa’s conversation is, ‘for these four games, if I keep you up, I want a massive bonus and this for next year.’ So, I think Rafa will take it.”
HITC View: Highly unlikely that Benitez says yes
One questions whether Rafael Benitez would accept becoming the Leeds manager, despite the logic presented by Darren Bent with the season practically over and done with.
To turn things around with so much at stake and such little time is enormous pressure for any coach.
Considering all Benitez has achieved in the game, it seems highly unlikely that he would put himself in such a precarious situation.
A case could have been made a couple of weeks ago but with just four games left, a claim such as this seems like a stretch to say the least.
