Leeds United chief executive Angus Kinnear is considering appointing Scott Parker as their next manager. The Whites are looking for a new boss after firing Sam Allardyce.
That is according to The Telegraph, which reports that Parker features on Kinnear’s shortlist of potential new managers for Leeds. The Elland Road chief is overseeing their search for a new head coach after Allardyce left the West Yorkshire outfit by mutual consent this Friday.
Leeds and Allardyce agreed to part ways after he failed to prevent their relegation from the Premier League. The veteran tactician took over from Javi Gracia with just four matches left of the season. But the Elland Road team would lose in three and draw in one of his fixtures.

Leeds United are interested in appointing Scott Parker
Kinnear is now leading Leeds’ search for a new manager with the Whites also parting ways with their director of football, Victor Orta. He has also compiled a brief shortlist of possible candidates to study in detail. Parker is one but Leeds are also interested in Steven Gerrard.
Parker is currently out of work after he lost his second job in seven months back in March. Club Brugge sacked the 42-year-old after just 12 games in charge of the Belgian team after losing four and drawing six matches. They also conceded 21 goals to 13 scored under him.

AFC Bournemouth also fired Parker last August following a 9-0 defeat at Liverpool. He had taken the Cherries to promotion out of the Championship in 2021/22 as the runners-up to Fulham. The south coast side also started the top-flight season by beating Aston Villa 2-0.
But defeats to Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool through August led Parker to publicly admit his fears that Bournemouth did not have a squad capable of surviving in the Premier League. It was his vocal outcry that ultimately saw the Cherries part company with Parker.

Scott Parker boasts a strong record for promotion
Yet promotion with Bournemouth marked the second time that Parker had led a team out of the Championship. He also gained promotion with Fulham via the play-offs in 2019/20. But the ex-Cottagers midfielder left Craven Cottage the following summer after their relegation.
His record for gaining promotion from the Championship is one factor that makes Parker an attractive option as Leeds search for their next manager. And even after Fulham’s struggles in the top-flight in 2020/21, Pep Guardiola also called Parker an ‘incredibly good’ manager.
