Leeds United are considering a stunning move to make Sam Allardyce their new manager amid question marks over Javi Gracia.
The Whites lost 4-1 at Bournemouth on Sunday and are in real danger of slipping into the Championship.
Gracia – only appointed in February – is now increasingly likely to lose his job after one point in the last five games.
Leeds fans couldn’t have possibly expected to see Sam Allardyce arrive but that now appears to be a real possibility.
The Athletic report that Leeds are now ‘strongly considering’ making Allardyce their new manager.
Allardyce is now a ‘leading contender’ to take the Leeds job until the end of the season in a desperate attempt to stay up.
This would be quite the turn of events for Leeds, who were confident that Gracia would guide them to safety.
Heavy defeats to Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Bournemouth have changed the atmosphere though and Leeds are staring relegation in the face.
With games against Manchester City, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur to see out the season, Allardyce would face a real uphill battle.

Marcelo Bielsa once praised Sam Allardyce
Leeds fans are probably still pining for Marcelo Bielsa, with Leeds unable to find a winning formula since his exit.
That is unlikely to happen but he did have some kind words for Allardyce back in 2021.
Allardyce decided to leave West Bromwich Albion after failing to keep them up – and he hasn’t been back in management since.
Bielsa paid tribute to Allardyce, suggesting that he clearly improved West Brom and hailed the ‘qualities’ Allardyce provides to his teams.
The 68-year-old indicated earlier this year that he was confident he could solve Leeds’ problems if given a call.
Fast forward a couple of months and it looks like Allardyce will end up making an unexpected managerial return with Leeds after all.
