Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares continues to impress through his performances since arriving at the Emirates Stadium.
Tavares earns praise
Arsenal plucked Tavares from Benfica this summer and it’s fair to say that when he arrived little was known about the left-back by the Emirates Stadium crowd.
The Portuguese youngster had only a handful of appearances in senior football, but he has quickly set about showing his promise.
Tavares is unquestionably raw and still has areas of his game that he needs to work on.
However, his pace and aggression has already stood out at Arsenal’s team and he seems to have all the skills to develop into an excellent player in North London.
Tavares’s display for his country last night only helped to further enforce the excitement around his potential at Arsenal.
The prospect scored and claimed an assist as Portugal’s under-21 side stormed to a 11-0 victory over Liechtenstein, with Gunners fans hailing his display.
Ready for a role?
Tavares will, of course, face tougher challenges than last night when he returned to Arsenal.
But with Kieran Tierney not the most reliable fitness wise, he should receive plenty of game time this season.
And the 21-year-old’s promising performances for both club and country suggest that he is more than ready to play a role in the Premier League.
