Tottenham should take another look at Luka Jovic.

Before Tottenham Hotspur blew a combined £30 million plus on Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente, they were scouting promising Serbian forward Luka Jovic.

The Daily Mail reported in 2015 how 17-year-old Jovic was hailed by Red Star Belgrade’s president and compared to Radamel Falcao.

Tottenham’s extended look at Jovic did not materialise into a move, and a year later he was signed by Benfica.

Benfica used Jovic sparingly, sending him on loan to German side Eintracht Frankfurt this season.

Jovic’s spell in Germany has been positive, and he is hitting form.

He has scored six first team goals this season, from five starts and a further 11 appearances from the bench.

Four of his strikes have come as a substitute, and his ability to change games off the bench is a trait Tottenham’s back-up strikers to Harry Kane have lacked.

Jovic has scored two goals in his last two games, and netted a brace for Serbia’s under-21 side at the weekend.

Still just 20-years-old, Jovic is a top prospect and he is well worth a second look from Tottenham as they look for potential bargains with huge potential who will fit within their pay structure.
